Demy Papathanassiou, served as co-artistic director at Theatre enCorps Collectif and has been an integral member of the Onassis Foundation Cultural Centre I-Dance since 2013. Engaging in the International Dance Festival "Unlimited Access'' in Athens (2015), she honed her skills through iDance workshops at the STEGI Onassis Foundation, participating with global counterparts like Holland Dance Festival (Netherlands), Skånes Dansteater (Sweden) and Stopgap Dance Company (United Kingdom).
In 2018, Demy earned a Minor Concentration in Contemporary Dance Practices, focusing on choreography showcasing her artistic vision with the debut of her major choreographic work, "Dançor," at Ourfestival4 in August 2018. As a co-artistic director at TheatreenCorps Collectif, she premiered "Journey" at Kyma Festival and Ourfestival5 in September 2019. Furthermore, she curated the closing event of the international collaborative project Seven to the Seventh for Theatre enCorps Collectif in June 2019 Nostos Festival. In the closing ceremony, Demy brought together multiple inclusive dance groups to work collaboratively. Her second work [New] Horizons, exploring the effect of the isolation of COVID-19 on individuals with diverse needs, was premiered in Our Festival 6 in August and from here went on to be part of Mylos Festival in Larissa in September 2020.
Demy has choreographed a work called “You Walk” for Theatre enCorps Collectif that was in part funded by the Ministry of Culture and Sports under its ‘Festivals and Multi-thematic Events’ funding strand and was presented online in July 2021. In June 2022, Demy co-coordinated and curated "Making the Leap: Dancer to Choreographer" workshop for Europe Beyond Access Lab alongside Maria Koliopoulou.
Her experimental short film, a condensed version of "You Walk," received an Honorable Mention Jury Award at Festival VideoAndanza Internacional in March 2023.This video dance film has also been screened in Athens Video dance Festival in December 2023 and has been selected for the Dance Days Chania Video dance 2024.
For the closing Symposium Europe Beyond Access: Disability and Transforming the Cultural Ecosystem in Brussels she was one of the two moderators, along with Maria Vlachou.
Continuing her artistic journey, Demy unveiled her inaugural solo performance, “Who am I today?" at Beyond DisDance festival in Cyprus in January 2024.
